Disc Player Instruction

1. Wind up the movement with the key "A".

2. Push over the arm "B" to the right, as shown on the illustration.

3. Remove disc (if there is one).

4. Place the disc on the center shaft with the arrow "START" (printed on the disc) in axis with both "C", and the disc's teeth in pinion "D".

5. Push back the arm "B" to its closed position, until the center of the disc.

6. Start using button "E".

7. Stop using button "E". The music will stop at the end of the tune.

Important: Do not remove the disc until it has stopped playing. Make sure that the teeth of the star-wheel assembly "F" are always lined up perfectly.

If they come out of alignment, they should be realigned before installing a new disc (otherwise the music will be out of tune). Take care to move the teeth of the star-wheel upwards, never downwards, or they may break.

The movement can be rewound while playing.

About Disc Players

The invention of the mechanical disc player dates back to the end of the 19th century and heralded the advent of the phonograph.

The disc movements are very easy to use and facilitate the setting up of a library of tunes, so that it is easy to complete one's collection at all times.

In 1986, Reuge took over production of this particular product from Thorens, a name well-known worldwide for its disc movements. This enables also owners of (older) Thorens disc players to expand their collection, as the Reuge discs are in many cases compatible with the Thorens movements.

In 2009, Reuge stopped production of disc players.
